News from the Passiflora Society International!

Butterfly World announces a significant historic botanical event unprecedented in over 100 years!

Passiflora nelsoni, a passionflower completely unrecorded since 1883, is blooming once again in another era, at Butterfly World. The first bud opened on Monday, August 19, and only a few remain. No one in the 20th century ever recorded the existence of any flowering specimen of this rare Passiflora, and now one blooms in the 21st century here in South Florida at Butterfly World, headquarters for the Passiflora Society International.
